Viking Wolf Seiðr - the meaning:
An interview with White Wolf on Go Solo: Interview
Viking simply means Explorer. To “Go a Viking” means to go exploring. Of course much in history tells of Vikings are raiders, rapers and those with such a savage and brutal appetite for blood, wealth and fame. This has given the name “Viking” a negative meaning with some people today. Though this was truth for some of those who went a viking, history also tells us that it was not the case with all. Many were simply seafaring traders. The only truth on the baseline activity of Vikings was the desire and yearning to explore and gain wealth. All else seems to have been subject to the individuals.
I am very much a Northman at heart. I craft tribal, Viking and Scandinavian and Mountain Man pieces/crafts through VikingWolfCraft, and I home brew authentic wild-ferment mead. I’ve traveled and explored greatly throughout the Western hemisphere. I have lived primitively using the Earth Path Wilderness Ways for extended periods of time in wilderness areas around the United States in all seasons.
From climbing over 25 mountain peaks over 14,000 feet in elevation in all 4 seasons to navigating the northern Nicaraguan river-lands, trekking the vast southwest deserts, hiking through the oak and hickory hardwood forests near the Mississippi River, the mixed woods of the Appalachians, exploring the wide open prairie lands of the mid-west, hiking the mountains of the Pacific Northwest, Honduras, Northern Maine, seasides of both coasts and Alaska, the subtropics of Maui on the slopes of Mt Haleakala, mucking through the swamps of the southeast and hiking the Rocky Mountains from New Mexico to Montana, I’ve been around, through and communed with many environments.
I literally have “Gone a Viking” many times throughout my life. Though I did not horde wealth in that of the monetary meaning, I have acquired more wealth in terms of experience than ever could be replaced by money riches.
I am also very much wolf in nature, and thus is my name. So I am referred to by many as the Viking Wolf.
Seiðr of course is the physical and spiritual practice this website is all about. And as anyone who has truly studied Seiðr knows, the practice is highly personal and without rigid confines.
Viking Wolf Seiðr - thus is the name.
